      Aurelia S. Byrd
      Died: 11-14-2001 Aurelia Sexton Byrd, 85, of Starke, Fla., died Wednesday at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home following a long illness.
      She was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Angier. She moved to Starke in 1981 from Bunnlevel. Mrs. Byrd was a member of First Baptist Church in Starke. She was a former member of Starke Women’s Club and was a retired U.S. Postal worker where she worked for more than 23 years.

      Grave side services will be held Saturday at 10 A.M. at Crosby Lake Cemetery by the Revs. Ben Bryant and Ron Penrod. Interment will be at Crosby Lake Cemetery.

      Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Wood of Starke; four brothers, Maurice C. Sexton of Lexington, Robert R. Sexton of Burlington, Joe G. Sexton of Burlington and Charles Phillip Sexton of Asheboro; a sister, Anne Rogers of Burlington; four grandchildren, Melanie K. Reddish of Tampa, Fla., Dianne W. Whipple of Jacksonville, Fla., Hal Wood of Tampa and Randy Wood of Starke; and two great-grandchildren.

      The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Jones Funeral Home, Starke.
