"Warrick Hockaday had these children, Thomas, Gray, Betsey, China, William, Paschall. (correction) married Betsey (Elizabeth) about 1819.
I have old photos dating from the 1840s wills and deeds from 1814. Old English prayer book from 1740.
Jim Hockaday's father was Paschall . Paschall was born in 1836 in Cumberland Co. Harnett Co. was formed in 1855, Cumberland Co. included this area. The original 2 room log cabin is in the center of the home place this part dates to 1814. The stone fireplace is put together with mud and animal hair. The center room has been stripped to the bare logs and refinished. Buttons from a Civil War uniform have been found in the yard, they are crossed cannon suggesting one of the Hockaday s served in the artillery of the CSA.
