HARNETT COUNTY NEWS, June 20, 2001:
Jessie Lee Baker Norris, 82, of 1806 Dixie Farm Road, Sanford, died Tuesday, June 12, at Central Carolina Hospital. She was born in Harnett County to Bertis B. and Nannie Thomas Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston B. Norris, a son, Bobby Ray Norris; and a grandson, Kenneth C. Strouth. She retired from Cornell Dubiler.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 14, at Freewill Holiness Church, Sanford, by the Rev. Pearl Castleberry. Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens.
Survivors include a son, Harold J. Norris of Sanford; three daughters, Mary Sue Puryear of Sanford, Peggy Seamone of Concord and Faye Strouth of Cameron; a brother, the Rev. Ralph Baker of Sanford; sisters Burlena Davis of Durham, Irela Love, Etheleen Bullard, Hazel Donathan, Dorothy Riddle and Marie Baker, all of Sanford; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
