      "...All of the children of Hugh Matthews were by wife Martha Johnson. We know
      that Hugh Matthews and his wife were married by 1715 when they conveyed
      land to Martha's brother John Johnson. In 1738, Hugh Matthews sold land again
      and that deed was witnessed by Martha and confirmed by both Hugh and wife
      Martha. Thus, Martha was still living in 1738. All of Hugh Matthews' children would have been born well before 1738. Indeed, by 1747, virtually all of his children were married and had families of their own,..."
