Funeral Services Held For Rev. Irvin Stephens
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday from Antioch Baptist Church for the Rev. Irvin Stephens, 69, a retired Baptist minister of Lillington. Rev Stephens died last Thursday.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. F. Gentry, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, the Rev. Julius Holloway, retired pastor with the Little River Baptist Association, and the Rev. Lonnie Wollweaver, former pastor at Antioch.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Area Baptist ministers served as pallbearers.
Stephens was well known in the Lillington area and served as pastor of the following Baptist churches of the area: Hillman Grove, Pleasant Memory, Fellowship, Piney Grove. He also served as interim pastor for Kennebec and Calvery Baptist Church.
A native of Wake County, Rev. Stephens was the son of the late Thon T. and Minnie Smith Stephens.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zenobia McLean Stephens, a sister, Mrs. Martha Oliver of Lillington; one brother, Redgie Stephens of Georgetown, S.C.
Irvin Stephens, 69, Dies
Irvin Stephens, 69-year-old retired Baptist pastor of Lillington died recently. A graduate of Campbell College, he served as pastor of the following churches in Little River Association: Hillmon Grove, Pleasant Memory, Fellowship, and Piney Grove Chapel.
He is survived by his wife, Zenobia McLean Stephens, a sister, Mrs. Martha Oliver of Lillington and one brother. August 6, 1977
